The 25th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive by NALC & USPS®

May 3, 2017

On May 13, the United States Postal Service will team up with the National Association of Letter Carriers for their annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive – the nation’s largest single-day food drive. Letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America will collect food donations to provide assistance to those struggling with hunger in their local communities.

The Food Drive leverages the USPS’s delivery network to raise national awareness about the real, ongoing problem of hunger that letter carriers see in the communities they serve. Food donations left by the mailboxes of community members will be collected and delivered to local food banks and other hunger relief organizations. Last year, 80 million pounds of nonperishable food was donated, amounting to a total of 1.5 billion pounds of food donated over the course of the Food Drive’s 25 years.

Participating is simple. Leave a sturdy paper or plastic bag containing non-perishable foods next to your mailbox before your normal mail delivery on Saturday, May 13. Your letter carrier will pick it up and deliver it to the appropriate local organizations!

To find out if the Food Drive is happening in your area, call your local post office or ask your letter carrier.
