Improved Email For USPS Tracking Notifications

September 28, 2017
Author: Pat Mango, Manager, Postal Relations

The Postal Service is improving the tracking notifications that customers receive by email. The emails feature a new, user-friendly design that uses less text and more visuals. The emails also include icons that allow customers to quickly see when:

  • A package is scheduled for delivery
  • Updates are available for the expected delivery date and time
  • A package is delivered
  • A package is available for pickup at a USPS location
  • There are alerts or other updates that require a customer’s attention

To start receiving emails, customers should go to usps.com/tracking and enter a valid tracking number and email address.

The enhanced notifications are part of the Postal Service’s efforts to improve customers’ experiences and make it easier for them to track their mail and packages.
